A West German governance compromise? Stakeholder relations from the ”Wirtschaftswunder“ to the industrial structural crisis - 1950’s to the 1980’s
June 25th – 26th, 2010,
Deadline: December 31st, 2009
Our doctoral workshop deals with the question how far companies factor the expectations of their stakeholder - that is of all people having relations to the companies - in regard to their economic activities. Thereby, we want to reassess the hypothesis that West German companies were rather geared to their different stakeholder than caring for the maximisation of their shareholder value.
We welcome all English speaking PhD candidates who are conducting research about the post-war era in companies and who, in doing so, analyse the companies' relations to its shareholders, employees, consumers, retailers, suppliers, creditors, as well as public or local institutions, interest groups or the media.
